ETSU’s Bo Hodges Entry in to the Transfer Portal Mocks the Fan Base’s “Complete Faith.”
It’s one thing to be supportive. It’s another to be flat out dumb.
Sports fans in east Tennessee tend to be a pretty less-than-critical bunch.
Take East Tennessee State’s recent head men’s basketball coaching search. Fans, and disturbingly some media members, were heard to echo the sentiment: “I have complete faith in the administration.”
That really is checking your mind at the door.
It’s one thing to think your school has a good athletic director. It’s another to see an administration consider shaking up a good thing by considering going outside of the program for a new coach and not ask “Why?”
And we’re potentially seeing the end of the result of the search when ETSU’s best player, Bo Hodges, entered in to the transfer portal this week.
This decision was reportedly not necessarily because of Jason Shay’s hire specifically. Supposedly Hodges made his decision prior to Shay officially becoming the Bucs’ new head coach.
