Hey, Tennessee Volunteers Fans! How’s Greg Schiano Look Now?
Rejected by Big Orange Nation, Schiano records an upset victory at Rutgers against Michigan State upon his return to the Scarlet Knights sideline as the Vols lose their 14th straight to Alabama.
So, how’s that putting a halt to Greg Schiano coming to Tennessee look now, Vols fans?
It wasn’t surprising that Tennessee lost to Alabama. The Vols have done so for 14 straight years.
But Rutgers’ 38–27 victory against Michigan State in Schiano’s return to the Scarlet Knights’ sideline was.
The Spartans have been nationally ranked at some point in the college football season for 10 straight seasons and 11 of the past 12.
Rutgers, meanwhile, has never seemed to fit in to the Big 10. They’d lost 21 straight conference games and since joining the league in 2014 had only won one game against a conference opponent that finished with a winning record (a 41–38 victory in 2014 against Maryland, who finished 7–6 that season).
Simply put, Alabama is ranked second in the nation this season and it would not surprise anyone if they went undefeated.
Who the worst two teams in the Power Five may be subjective, but suggesting Rutgers was one of them and a winless season was on the horizon would not have been…
