Did you celebrate Independence Day?

Maybe went to a picnic, did some backyard grilling, attend a ballgame and watched some fireworks?

Did you display a good old American Flag?

Hopefully it was not the Betsy Ross Flag. The one with the 13 stars for the original colonies organized in a circle.

The original American Flag, displayed in Portsmouth, Virginia

According to Colin Kaepernick, it’s racist.

Nike had produced a sneaker that featured the iconic American symbol on it.

But when Nike spokesman Kaepernick found out about it, he objected. So Nike pulled it off the market.

Did Joe Montana, or even Joe Namath, get publicity like this in New York City?

Kaepernick, you see, seems to think the Betsy Ross American Flag is a symbolism of America’s racist past. It flew when America had slavery!

It also flew long after many of the states represented on the flag had outlawed the peculiar institution. But let’s not think of our progress.

Evidently, the Betsy Ross flag became racist because in Michigan, a high school fan base with a majority of Caucasian students flew it, along with a flag supporting then-Presidential candidate Donald Trump at a 2016 game…
