10. Les Robinson. Look, Robinson is hardly a bum. The polar opposite is true.

But he also pretty much lost everywhere he’s been except ETSU, and the greatest riches of the ETSU Glory Days Era were accomplished under Alan LeForce (national ranking, NCAA Tournament victory), the assistant who brought in Keith “Mister” Jennings.

Pictured with former ETSU assistant Buzz Peterson at N.C. State, Robinson’s record away from ETSU was 210–260.

Don’t bury Robinson. He was charismatic, scheduled well, and the coach of record that rebuilt ETSU basketball.

And with all due respect to Madison Brooks and Gene McMurray, perhaps even built ETSU basketball. Before Robinson, the Bucs hadn’t made the NCAA Tournament in a generation and only once in their history. They’ve now made 10 appearances in the Big Dance.

But does Robinson belong in the Southern Conference Hall of Fame? Isn’t it a bit odd that Mike Ayers, who departed for a Division II school from ETSU when Robinson was the Bucs’ athletic director, was named to the SoCon Hall in the same class as Robinson?

Maybe just a little too much attention goes to Robinson and not to the players or LeForce. That’s the point.
