Buccaneers’ starting center with two years of eligibility remaining enters in to the transfer portal only five days after fellow post player Jeromy Rodriguez announces his intention to turn pro.

So since the end of the Southern Conference men’s basketball tournament, the ETSU men’s basketball team has:

A- Been overlooked for the National Invitational Tournament, instead paying to play in the less-than-satisfying College Insiders Tournament, and getting bounced in the first round by heavy-underdog Green Bay.

B- Jeromy Rodriguez, whom Forbes consistently said was his best player even during his year sidelined by injury, left a season early to go to the pros.

Jeromy Rodriguez established himself as one of the leading rebounders in college basketball in 2018–19.

C- And yesterday M’laden Armus followed Rodriguez out the door, announcing his intention to transfer.

Suddenly, the team that appeared to be the heavy favorite for the Southern Conference championship in 2019–20 is now decimated. They are the team that lost to the Phoenix in the CIT, not the team that beat Furman by 23 points just a week after the Paladins were nationally ranked.

East Tennessee sports fans love a good conspiracy theory, be it against referees or ESPN.

So what’s with the two players secretly kept on concussion protocol between the SoCon Tournament…
